Tourist destination info Tkon - island Pasman

Tkon is an ancient fishing place located on the southern part of the island of Pasman. It was formed in 1997 and the original village was located 2km to the south, but not along the coast. It was first mentioned by Konstantin Porfirogenet in his records from the 10th century. The locals have been involved in agriculture, cattle breeding and fishing. The most important activity was the harvest of clams in the Pasman canal. Tkon contains numerous historical sites such as the parish church of St. Toma (mentioned in the 11th century, built in 1742, restored in 1938), Church of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows (built in the 18th century, located on the Kalvarija hill), St. Antun the Loner (built in the 17th century, with the legacy of the local Glagolitic A. Palaskov 1672) and the Benedictine convent of St. Kuzme and St. Damjan ( located on the Cokovac hill, it is a cultural monument of the zero category, built by the Biograd bishop Teodorik in 1059 on the foundations of an early byzantine fort and an old Christian church). The beaches on the northern part of the island are pebbly. Some of the most famous beaches are Vruljica and Juznja. The beaches in Tkon are a popular tourist destination for the visitors from Biograd, who come daily by ferries. Sports and recreation enthusiasts can enjoy cycling, sailing, diving, running, soccer, basketball, volleyball, windsurfing and countless other activities. Like in any other Dalmatian town, Tkon also organizes numerous festivities, the most famous of which are “Latinsko idro” – that’s when the sailing and rowing race is organized, as well as the “fishermen night”, organized since 1986 – that’s when you can enjoy roasted fish, shells, red wine and numerous other homemade specialties while listening to music or dancing. Countless games and competitions are organized, as well, such as the boat race, bowling tournament and the lottery. Gastronomy enthusiasts can enjoy domestiv specialties in restaurants “Andelo”, “Maestral”, “Sovinje”, as well as in the tavern “Klanac”.

Be sure to visit

Dugi otok is the largest island in the group of northern Dalmatian islands. The pride of the island is the lighthouse located on the northwestern side, as well as the nature park Telaščica which is characterized by three phenomena: the Telaščica bay, “Stene” cliff and salt lake “Mir.” There are various historical monuments on the island such  as the Franciscan monastery, the church of St. Michael, the church of St. Rocco, the church of St. Nicholas, church of St. Anthony, St. Krševan of Zadar monastery, St. Pelegrine church, Nativity of the Virgin Mary sanctuary, St. Nicholas chapel and many others.

Zadar is a town of exceptional history and remarkably valuable cultural heritage. It is one of the most popular Croatian tourist destinations, named as the “entertainment center on the Adriatic” by the London Times, and the “new cool capital” by the Guardian. You can see the sea organ in Zadar, which offer an interrupted concert of mystical tones of the “Nature orchestra”, as well as Salute to the Sun, National Square, Five Wells Square, the silver and gold of Zadar, Forum, Fosa, Kalelarga and the antique glass museum Zadar. Visit different historical monuments such as: St. Donat church, St, Stosia Cathedral, St. Sime church, St. Mary church and convent, St. Frane church and convent, town walls, forts and gates, St. Krsevan church and numerous others.

Šibenik is the oldest native Croatian city on the Adriatic, located at the mouth of the river Krka. It is famous for its various historical landmarks such as the fortresses of St. Michael, St. Nicholas, St. John and Šubićevac, the Cathedral of St. Jacob, St. Francis church, St. Dominic’s church and the Four Wells. If you would like to further explore the history of the city, we recommend visiting its museums and galleries: Museum of the City of Šibenik, Gallery of St. Krševan, AG Gallery, and the Madrigal Gallery. Apart from its historical characteristics, Šibenik is well known for its summertime festivities. Šibenik is home to the International Children’s Festival, Šibenik Evening, Evenings of Dalmatian Chansons, Organ Summer School and Šibenik Cultural Summer.

Nice area, great view and lots of privacy
House is nice and convenient if you have a boat or rent one. House is comfortable but not luxury.
Road to the destination is seriously bad. You have to drive carefully to avoid damage to your car. Because of that It takes some time to reach the main road. Warm water In the house is not really available. Possible to boil water or take a douche outside by sun warmed water
