Just a few kilometers from the famous, crowded tourist destinations, there are incredibly beautiful, hidden places that you cannot find in guidebooks. If you are bored by traffic jams or simply want to explore the less-known destinations where hardly anyone was - it's time to enjoy the delights of all the secrets that nature created on Croatian soil.
One of the biggest secret you need to discover is Stiniva bay on the southern part of the island Vis. Stiniva is a natural phenomenon with an unusual look, which is believed to have originated from the collapse of the cave ceiling. By the sea side, Stiniva is closed with two stone walls and it is a great entrance to the bay for the yachtsmen. There is a beautiful pebble beach among the cliffs, suitable for all-day relaxation and sun, far from the public eye. The cove cannot be reached by car, but steep footpath will take you there (approximately 20 minutes of walk). We recommend visiting the bay in the morning when Stiniva has a lot of sun.
Not far from the island Vis you can visit is the island of Bisevo which hides a secret magic - Blue Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in the world. The best time of the day to visit the cave is around noon when the sun's rays penetrate through the entrance and reflect on the ground and paint the cave in blue and water in silver. You can visit the cave by organized excursions from local agencies (price in season 50 Kuna).
On the island of Korcula be sure to visit Racisce, poetry in stone. It is a small idyllic resort suitable for relaxation and rest. The bay with old stone Dalmatian houses and fishing stories. Indescribable beauty of Kornati islands enriches one of the most beautiful Croatian bays - Nature Park Telascica, surrounded by 13 islands. Between the rocky shores of the bay and the huge steep cliffs on the outside lies lake Mir whose level changes depending on the level of the sea. From land, Telašćica is available by hiking trails; a nature park ticket is 25 kuna.
If you want to enter the Croatian interior where you can enjoy nature at its best, we recommend a visit to Rastoke, not far from the Plitvice lakes. Enjoy the sounds of waterfalls, lush water and beautiful nature. Meet the old crafts and visit the mill. Rastoke will surely leave you speechless.
