Turistmål info Povlja - ön Brac

Povlja is a small resort located deep in the cove of the island of Brac. The largest old Christian basilica on the island of Brac is located here, as well as some of the more valuable historical monuments such as “Povaljska listina” (the oldest preserved relic of the kind, written in our language in Cyrillic) and “Povaljski prag” (the oldest and most significant epigraph written in Croatian in Cyyillic). The town is surrounded by numerous coves with various beaches. Some of the most beautiful coves are Travna, Smokvica, Ticja Luka and Tatinja. Povlja is an ideal place for families with children, as well as for those who wish to spend their vacation in peace and quiet. Enjoy walking along the long promenades, Dalmatian specialties, cultural sites and numerous coves. Sports and recreation fans can enjoy diving, football, gondola rides, sailing as well as rent gondolas, sailing boats, scooters and boats for all-day excursions.

Bol is the oldest town on the coast of Brac. It is rich with long pebbly and sandy beaches which stretch for about 10km. One of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic is located in Bol – Zlatni rat. Historical sites enthusiasts can visit the roman aqueduct, tombstones and reliefs, old Christian sarcophagus, preromantic church of St. Ivan and Tudor, renaissance baroque palace, bishop residency and the church of Our Lady of Grace.

Split is one of the leading tourist destinations on the Adriatic and the second largest town in Croatia. It is an eternally young town which lives at a slow pace to which it is easy to accustom. It is rich with historical cultural sites, such as: the Diocletian’s palace – the heart of Split, Iron gate, statue of Gregory of Nin, St.Duje cathedral, St. Frane cathedral, St. Petar concathedral, Peristil, St. Ante convent and numerous others.

Omis is a small Mediterranean town located at the mouth of the river Cetina.It is famous for its historical sites such as  fortresses Mirabela and Fortica, parish church of St. Michael, Franciscan monastery, churches of St. Peter, Holy Spirit, the Illyrian seminary, old cemetery, medieval town center, pole of shame and the old town lodge. Sports fans can take part in river rafting on the Cetina, free climbing, wind surfing, swimming marathon, beach volleyball and other activities.
