Okrug Gornji is a traditional Dalmatian town and a tourist residence on the western part of Čiovo island, which is connected with a bridge to the city of Trogir. The town is covered in rich Mediterranean vegetation and full of beautiful pebble beaches with enough shallow areas to make them appropriate for families with children. There are several cafes and bars on these beaches which are visited by many young people in the evenings for various kinds of parties. The archipelago of picturesque islets completes the beauty of this town, while numerous small coves and beaches in its near vicinity offer peace and quiet to those who prefer privacy. Sports enthusiasts can take part in scuba diving to discover the beauty of the Adriatic, play tennis, soccer, basketball, parasailing on the beach or visiting various nearby islands with boats. Okrug Gornji is an ideal place for families with children and younger generations in need of entertainment, while the close vicinity of Trogir ensures a variety of entertainment and cultural events.
The port of Trogir is a favored destination of seafarers because it is well positioned and naturally sheltered. The city is rich in cultural monuments and is also called “museum city”. Visit the city’s old town, Kamerlengo fortress, tower of St. Mark, sculpture of the Blessed John of Orsinij, chapel of St. Jeronimo, Ćipiko palace, renaissance church of St. John the Baptist, portal of Radovan, museum, pinacotheca and many others.

Okrug Gornji is located on the island of Čiovo, which is connected with a drawbridge to the city of Trogir. It was settled in the prehistoric times and the Romans called the island Boa. It is located near larger and more important tourist centers of the Adriatic (Split, Trogir, Šibenik).

Must-see places
Split is the second largest city in Croatia and is one of the most visited tourist destinations on the Adriatic. This eternally young city lives in a slow rhythm which is very easy to get used to and it is famous for its rich history, evident in numerous historical monuments. Do not miss the opportunity to visit Diocletian’s palace – the heart of the city, the Iron Gate, statue of Gregory of Nin, cathedral of St. Duje, church of St. Francis, concathedral of St. Peter, main court, St. Anne’s monastery, city basement and numerous others.
Šibenik is the oldest self-settled city on the Adriatic, located at the mouth of the Krka River. This city has a turbulent past which is evident in its numerous monuments. Visit the St. Michael, St. Nicholas, St. John and Šubićevac fortresses, cathedral of St. Jacob, church of St. Francis, church of St. Dominic, Four Wells and others. If you wish to get more acquainted with the city, you can visit its museums and galleries (Šibenik City Museum, St. Krševan Gallery, Ag Gallery and Madrigal Gallery).

Entertainment
Fishermen’s evening (Okrug Gornji) – organized several times during the summer. Entertainment is guaranteed with fish, wine, olive oil, bread and wonderful music.
Trogir Cultural Summer – Various entertainment events held throughout the summer: musical evenings (classical music concerts, local and international musical stars and chamber music), folklore exhibits and theatrical events in the authentic environment of the old city center, folk festivities (Fishermen’s Evenings, Day of the City, local and foreign artist exhibitions in the Modern Gallery.
Opening of the “Trogir Summer” – one of the largest cultural festivities, official start of the Trogir Cultural Summer.
Trogir Fishermen’s Evening – fishermen’s festivity held as a part of the Trogir Cultural Summer; entertainment is guaranteed with fish, wine, olive oil, bread and wonderful music.
