Jezera - island Murter [ Sibenik Riviera ]
Jezera - island Murter - INFO
Jezera is a village and harbour on the north-eastern coast of the island of Murter, which is connected to the mainland by bridge at Tisno. It is situated in the cove bearing the same name, which is well protected from winds and waves. Jezera (Lakes) was named after numerous pools and puddles which appear in karst valleys during spring and autumn after heavy rainfall. When sunny days arrive, those little lakes disappear.
From ancient times the inhabitants of Jezera have been showing more tendencies towards the sea as sailing and fishing was the most important way of making a living. In present days the inhabitants are more in tourism and trade. Accommodation can be found in family houses and apartments or in the tourist village "Jezera - Lovisca" which has at its disposal comfortably equipped apartments and a high quality motor camp which is situated between olive-groves and a centuries-old pine wood. Jezera also has a modern ACI Marina which is a good starting point for exploring Kornati National Park. Jezera ACI Marina has 220 berths in the sea and 60 places on the land. It is open throughout the year.
The beach in Jezera is pebble and it can be found behind the marina, almost opposite to the little island Skoljic.
Jezera offers a tranquil and pleasant vacation with lots of sunshine, clear water and a nice cove with a beautiful beach. Lovers of fish and other seafood specialties will enjoy Jezera especially because fresh fish is part of everyday menus. A yachting school is organized in the summer months. Jezera is one of the starting points for cruises to the Kornati archipelago.
