Silo is a typical coastal tourist place, situated on the south-east side of the island of Krk. It was precisely in Silo where the first steam boat sailed to Crvikenica, on June 1st, 1905 which marked the beginning of the Silo-Vrbnik-Crikvenica line. There are no hotel accommodations in Silo, but it abounds in private accommodations. It is only 19km distant from the town of Krk. Krk is a town of typical Mediterranean landscape, narrow streets, numerous cultural monuments and picturesque pebble beaches provide it with the aspect it has had for centuries.
