1. The oldest Croatian national park
Staying longer in front of the waterfalls, taking photos to your heart’s content, taking a leisurely walk on wooden bridges, having a picnic in the meadow… Sometimes it’s not feasible because our oldest national park, Plitvice Lakes, is visited by about a million people a year!

4. Are you in the mood for hiking?

5. Required way stations
In addition to the listed national parks, you could make another stopover.
No matter which part of Croatia you find yourself in, you won’t be bored, because there are a handful of natural beauties and “must see” locations, and we decided to single out only a few, because there isn’t enough room for everything…
Nature park Učka near the city of Rijeka will be attractive to walkers and hikers. If your trip takes you to golden Slavonia, don’t miss Kopački rit and Lonjsko polje, especially if you are a fan of birds.
A little further south, there is another ornithological reserve – Vransko jezero nature park near Biograd na moru.
The sea temperatures are still very suitable and if you decide to go for another swim in the Makarska Riviera, don’t forget that you are very close to the Biokovo Nature Park and the incredible Skywalk Biokovo.
