Podgora is situated in the very core of Dalmatia, ecologically the purest part of the most limpid sea in the world. It is nestled at the foot of the Biokovo Mountain and national park, which slopes are covered with a variety of dense Mediterranean plants, especially centennial olive groves. Thanks to its favourable climate, the pebbly beaches and cosy bays with the sea that is relatively warm very early in the year, Podgora is an attractive see-side resort from the early spring to the late autumn. Its rarely beautiful landscape, the azure sky and the limpid sea make Podgora the peerless beauty spot of the Adriatic.
Besides its nature beauties, Podgora offers high quality facilities in hotels and family houses, with a rich gastronomic choice, together with a large variety of high standard sports facilities and entertainment spots, as well as many cultural events. Four tennis courts, as well as various playgrounds for indoor football, basketball and beach volleyball are offered to re-creation enthusiasts. Various workshops are also provided: yachting, windsurfing, water-skiing; equipment for water sports and boats can also be rented.
