The town Drvenik extends in two bays (Gornja vala and Donja vala) and it is situated 24 km south-east of Makarska. Its inhabitants occupy themselves with fishery, wine-growing, olive growing and tourism. Beautiful wooded bays with springs of drinking water and gravel and rocky beaches give Drvenik a particular charm. There is a car-ferry for Sućuraj on the island Hvar and for Trpanj (the peninsula Pelješac) in Drvenik. Drvenik is an excellent choice for a peaceful vacation, but young people looking for fun can find something for themselves too.
