Punat is a small village located on the south side of the island of Krk, only 8km distant from the town of Krk. The name Punat derives from the Latin word Pons, which means “Bridge”. The name itself has been mentioned for the first time in written documents in year 1377. The population has been involved in agriculture, viticulture, olive growing and fishing and, more recently, tourism. Gastronomy enthusiasts can enjoy the delicacies of this island in the restaurants “Vele Vode” and “Kostarika”, as well as the tavern “Maslina”.

Krk is a town with exceptional culture and history, located on the eponymous island, named “Golden island”. The population is involved in fishing, marine, shipping, agriculture and tourism. The town holds the Church of Our Lady of Good Health, Franciscan convent and the church of St. Francis, Sisters of the Poor Clares Monastery, Benedictine convent and the Church of St. Mary of the Angels, an early Christina basilica of the Assumption of Mary, Frankopan castle, Kamplin square, the church and convent of St. Lovre, Twin church of St. Quirinus and St. Margaret, town walls… the town is rich with pebble and rocky beaches that have been awarded numerous Blue flag which are the proof of the cleanness of the sea. The most famous beach in the town is Lukobran. The beaches often offer entertainment suitable for all ages (children’s parks, beach volleyball…)
