I love the feeling of my connection with nature. That is why windsurfing, battling with the wind and the sound of the water hitting the board gives me a feeling that only nature and myself are important in that moment.

\"Windsurfing<\/p>\n

Windsurfing can be learned regardless of age, physical condition and weight. This is one of the most attractive summer sports for all ages regardless of their fitness level or knowledge. The prerequisite for any beginner is knowing how to swim.
<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The history of windsurfing began with Jim Drake and Hoyle Schweitzer in the mid 20th century in sunny California. In 1968 Hoyle and his wife Diana registered a company called Windsurfing International and simutaneously protected the concept „windsurf“. In only a few years the windsurfing craze was spread to Europe and Australia, and in 1984 was included as an olympic  sport. In Croatia<\/strong>, the first windsurfers appear already in the 70’s when they begin to organize clubs and sections, and throughout the 80’s the first major competitions and championships take place.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Well known windsurfing destinations in Croatia are in Umag<\/a>, Punta, Preluk, Rabac, St. Marina, Medulin<\/a>, Nin<\/a>, Island Pag<\/a>, Bol <\/a>on the island of Brac<\/a> <\/strong>as well as Kuciste and Viganj on the Peljesac <\/strong><\/a>peninsula. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The ideal winds for windsurfing in Croatia are bura, maestral wind  and jugo (southern wind) with its variations. Ideal wind for extreme surfing is jugo (souther wind) which creates huge waves and blows constantly, while the more frequent wind bura is perfect for high speed, tricks and jumps. Maestral  is a summer blessing for surfers since it is very comfortable and predictable. It begins in the afternoon and intensifies until sunset.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
