\u201cI can\u2019t believe it took me this long\u2026.season 8. It took me this long to get here. It’s awesome.\u201d… This is what Anthony Bourdain, author of the famous TV series” No Reservations” said when ending his documentary dedicated to Croatia. He expressed his excitement and enthusiasm about what he saw and tasted in only a few days on the Croatian coast.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

By now, you probably have heard about the famous episode called \u201cCoastal Croatia\u201d shown on the Travel Channel<\/strong><\/a> which was a tremendous success and brought many positive comments.<\/h2>\n

Bourdain\u2019s culinary adventure in Croatia<\/strong> began with a visit to Rovinj<\/strong>, where he enjoyed the oysters and shrimp. In Motovun<\/strong> he tasted the famous white truffles, freshly picked from the soil, and compared their price to the price of a couple of hamburgers. In Banjole<\/strong> he tasted a variety of different fish and crabs while in the vicinity of Zadar<\/strong> he enjoyed fresh tuna straight from the hatchery. He was amazed by the Pag cheese and octopus baked under the bell which he tasted on island of Pag<\/strong>. Bourdain also visited Skradin, where he tried and loved the Skradin risotto prepared with 5 different kinds of meat<\/strong>. Later on he enjoyed the divine red wine saying: “This is so good, and why, oh why are there so many good wines in this country.”<\/strong><\/span> He concluded his wine and food tour with fresh fish on Kornati islands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Looking at Bourdain it\u2019s hard to not wish you were here. With this documentary he revealed what anyone who has visited Croatia<\/strong> at least once in their life would agree with: Croatia is an incredibly beautiful country with great wines and great food, or as Bourdain would put it in his distinctive style: \u201cI\u2019ve had no idea what Croatian cuisine was. Zero! I’ve had no picture in my mind. This is world-class food, world-class wine, world-class cheese. The next big thing is Croatia! If you haven\u2019t been here yet, you are an idiot! I\u2019m an idiot!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
