{"id":2151,"date":"2014-03-20T12:57:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-20T12:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/http:\/\/blog1.adriagate.com.adriagate.comhttp:\/\/blog1.adriagate.comhttp:\/\/blog1.adriagate.com\/uncategorized\/remote-cottage-hvar-island\/"},"modified":"2022-01-04T14:09:50","modified_gmt":"2022-01-04T13:09:50","slug":"remote-cottage-hvar-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog1.adriagate.com\/en\/remote-cottage-hvar-island\/","title":{"rendered":"One day in a remote cottage \u2013 cove on the Hvar island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>My experience in a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriagate.com\/Croatia-en\/Remote-cottages-Croatia\"> remote cottage or the Robinsonian lifestyle,<\/a> as it is often referred to, happened a few years ago on the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriagate.com\/Croatia-en\/Remote-cottages-island-Hvar?SearchAll=true\"> island of Hvar.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My husband, then boyfriend, has a very good friend \u2013 Toni, whose family is from Hvar and have a very old family house in a beautiful cove. We couldn\u2019t reach the cove by car, so we took their ship from Vrboska. The ride took about an hour. It was time well spent in even better company.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02634.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02522.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriagate.com\/Croatia-en\/Remote-cottages-island-Hvar?SearchAll=true\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02550.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/a>This old stone house in the cove, just a few feet from the sea, was waiting only for us. As soon as we got out of the boat, we went to the house, left a few things there and hurried up to the beach. Toni brought his fishing kit to provide lunch for us. In just one hour he caught 6 squids and a few fish. Luckily he is a true island person and a connoisseur of the underwater; otherwise we would have been starving\u2026 especially because we get unbearably hungry after swimming and sunbathing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02557.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is a barbecue in front of this beautiful, but somewhat abandoned house, built by the hands of our Toni\u2019s father. We all gathered old wooden sticks lying around the house to lit the fire for out lunch which Toni had just caught from the crystal clear sea. Smell of fire and barbecue food, a glass of homemade wine, good company and old house. The lunch was a true heaven for our palates and just the thought of that day makes me hungry again.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02643.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02444.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed each other\u2019s company for a while after lunch. We talked, laughed and took pleasure in all the great things about that day. We were not afraid of our neighbors\u2019 complaining about reckless behavior, loud laughter or something else. We simply enjoyed good company, sea, sun and nature. I\u2019m sorry it lasted for only a short while, but it was certainly something to remember. I believe it will happen again soon.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02599.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02607.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02612.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DSC02608.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, I don\u2019t have any photos of this adventure because at the time I didn\u2019t have my smartphone.
