I am sure that even by looking at this photo you can imagine the feeling offered by the presence on this unique place. Banje is an extremely attractive, pebble beach in Dubrovnik. It received the title of one of the ten best beaches in the world.

It is situated at the entrance to the Old Town, thus offering a surpassing view over the Walls of Dubrovnik. Constantly warm and clear sea, the view of the open sea, the ancient town Walls and the island of Lokrum are the biggest reasons why people from all over the world are attracted to the Banje.  You have deck-chairs, beach umbrellas, a rich choice of beverages, beach volleyball,  soccer and water polo courts at your disposal. I recommend you rent a pedal boat and “hop” to Lokrum, Porporela or the town Walls. But if you are more of an adventurist type, you have jet-ski rides or the memorable paragliding experience at your disposal. Whichever you chose, you will not make a mistake. Even at night this beach, proclaimed to be more beautiful than the French beaches, will not leave you disinterested. As the sun sets, the Banje beach gradually transforms into an elite place for an exciting night on the town.

The fact that the Banje beach complies with the standards of the European Union regarding the quality of the sea, testifies that this beach indeed deserves an appropriate position on the world scale of best beaches.  According to this regulation, microbiological parameters are taken into consideration, as main indicators of the sea pollution, temperature, and salinity. Based on these parameters it was concluded that the sea on the Banje beach is of “excellent quality”.

However, despite all the compliments and the title, it is not possible to satisfy the appetites of all people all the time.  Some say that the beach is small and unorganized. The beach in Dubrovnik is different. It won thanks to its tradition and natural wealths.

This title surely affirms Dubrovnik as the pearl of the Adriatic.
