Sveta Nedjelja (Sveta Nedilja) is a village some 12 km east of the city of Hvar, situated on steep and sunny slopes of the island. The area around Sveta Nedjelja is grown by vineyards in which best wines of the island of Hvar are produced, particularly the Plavac sort. The new tourist village Sveta Nedjelja is beneath the old village of Sveta Nedilja. The accommodation is in private apartments and houses.
Intact nature and clear sea add to the special atmosphere. Fishing grounds lie to the island of Scedro and the Lukavci islands.
A beautiful beach can be found in Sveta Nedjelja itself. The beach is sandy (not really a sand, but close enough) and that is probably the reason why it so popular. It can be pretty crowded in high season. But the coast between Sveta Nedjelja and Zavala (10 km of Sveta Nedjelja) has several little coves with wonderful fine pebble beaches where you can find some privacy.
