Sumartin is a little place on the furthest east cape of the island of Brac. It was settled in 1645 by people from Dalmatia escaping from Turks. The interesting fact is that till today there has been kept the štokavian dialect although it is the chakavian dialect that is spoken on the whole island. It is an ideal place for a peaceful vacation far away from city crowd.
