island Brac

The island of Brac is the third largest Croatian island, as well as the largest Dalmatian island. It is 40km long and 12km wide. It belongs to the group of Central Dalmatian islands. The island is known for the Brac stone which was used to build numerous famous buildings in the world, as well as for its attractive tourist destinations. Some of the more popular destinations on the island are, Mirca, Sutivan, Ložišća, Milna, Draćevica, Postira, Bol, Pučišća, Selca, Povlja, Sumartin…

One of the most popular resorts on the island is Bol, a town which was pronounced the overall champion of the Croatian tourism. Bol is the oldest coastal resort on the island, located in the central part of the south side of Brac. Bol is a famous surfing center which offers numerous other sport activities. Bol has a long nightlife tradition; everyone can find something to their liking, regardless of the age. The most popular clubs in Bol are “Varadero”, “Aquarius” and “Bolero”.

Supetar is another well-known destination on the island, famous for its beautiful beaches. Supetar hides numerous coves in which you can bathe, practice sports or simply enjoy the pleasant sun, away from the town crowd. During the summer, Supetar hosts countless manifestations, exhibitions and performances, thus fulfilling your nightlife. You can experience different adventures which will be the main reason you will want to come back to the island. You can take hiking tours to Dragonja cave or Blaca desert, go for a walk through the ancient quarry under Skripa, windsurfing in the canal near the beach Zlatni Rat, bathing on extraordinary beaches and numerous other adventures. Zlatni Rat, one of the most beautiful beacheson the Adriatic is located on the island of Brac, in the town of Bol. It is a sandy beach which stretches for half a kilometer into the sea, creating one of the biggest attractions on the Adriatic. The peak of the beach changes direction depending on the sea currents and tides.

You can reach Brac with a ferry which transports cars from Split (to Supetar) or with a speedboat to Milna and Bol. You can reach Sumartin from Makarska by a ferry which transports cars, as well. The above mentioned connections travel on a daily basis.
